" We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home. This is truly a beautiful house, not only in the way it looks (which is gorgeous!) but more importantly in the way it makes you feel. We loved the openness of the house, it was warm and inviting, and very welcoming. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The view was spectacular. There is nothing like waking up to such a picturesque sight! The house had lots of amenities and fun toys (snorkeling gear, kayaks, bikes, etc.) and it was very generous of the owners to let us enjoy them all. Unlike in most other rentals, we were gladly surprised to find a well stocked pantry and a wide selection of wares. Loved the kitchen, by the way =). The audio and video set up was also impressive - what a treat! To top these all off, the owners were simply wonderful - generous, honest, gracious people who were eager to make our stay as comfortable as can be. Even before the trip, they were very helpful and accommodating. We had a great time vacationing at the Hale Nana Kohala, and plan to make this an annual tradition. "

" What a fabulous house and setting awaited us when we arrived from 3 different continents for a family birthday party. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in Puako, the house was amazing, the pool was fabulous and the beach idyllic. Everything was "top of the line" and we never felt crowded, even though we were 3 separate families. We would definitely return here again. We discovered the lovely 'beach 69' which is a mile's drive/walk away and found this was a beautiful and safe beach for the kids (ages 4 - 14) "

" The moment you step in this estate you know you found something special. The architecture blends into this unique environment and takes advantage of the oustanding views. Nothing was spared in building of this home,the beutiful woods and stones are all first class. The decour is tastefull done in every detail. Watching the sunsets from the zero horizon pool was always popular. The ocean provided great snorkeling was right in front of the house with sea turtles a plenty. The beach in front of the house is nestled amongst the palms. This home is the best I have ever rented and I rent frquently. We can't wait to come back. "

" This home is incredible. The large open great room with cathedral ceiling and folding doors blends the space with the outdoors. All the bedrooms were wonderful. Great care was taken in building this home and everything we needed for a great holiday was there; great snorkeling (especially further off shore where we saw an arch and lava tube and wonderful coral), kayaks, bikes, even a small charming grocery store a few steps away. Our oldest son loved the house’s audio system. It is hard to call this a vacation rental as we always felt like we were staying in the owner’s home. We would definitely rent this home again. "

Hale Nana Kohola is a 4,500 sq.ft. architectural masterpiece on the beach in beautiful Puako. Guests can delight in kayaking and snorkeling only steps away in pristine clear coral reefs where Humpback whales come to breed from January to April, and the sea turtles reside year round. Great care was taken with the landscape, creating a beautiful palm tree oasis including a hammock stretched between two palms on the ocean side. This home is one of the few in Puako with a sandy beach right in front. This home offers 2 master suites, 2 guest bedrooms with their own baths, a media room, and an open living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen area that opens to a huge covered lanai adjacent to the infinity pool. Each bedroom, as well as the living and media rooms, has an advanced audio system that can accept individual iPod music selections (bring your iPod!).
